HIP – the operating system for digital healthcare

A complete foundation for your data strategy.

The Health Intelligence Platform (HIP) brings data from existing systems together and translates it into open, standardised data models. It provides the operating system for an interoperable health data landscape – creating a durable foundation for digital healthcare ecosystems. Applications built on HIP are interoperable by design, while the underlying data remains available for the long term, independent of individual systems.

HIP building blocks

Four integrated building blocks. One shared data foundation.

HIP brings data storage, integration, analytics and clinical applications together on a shared foundation. Each building block addresses a distinct need within your organisation’s data ecosystem. Together, they create a coherent architecture for making health data usable across care delivery, operations, research and innovation. The platform is C5-certified, highly scalable and available in an EU cloud environment or on premises.

HIP CDR

The open, secure and interoperable foundation for your health data

HIP Clinical Data Repository (CDR) is the data layer of the Health Intelligence Platform. It stores health data in a central longitudinal health record and provides a vendor-neutral backend for natively interoperable clinical applications.

Data is stored exclusively in open standards and open-source components. Your data remains yours, even when you change applications or providers. HIP integrates with your system landscape through HL7 v2, FHIR or tailored ETL pipelines. Attribute-based access control and a comprehensive audit trail provide the security and transparency required in healthcare.

Key benefits

  • A central longitudinal patient record built on a harmonised, extensible data model
  • Genuine vendor independence through open standards and interfaces, including openEHR and FHIR
  • Integration with your system landscape through FHIR, HL7 v2, OIDC, Entra and more
  • Granular access control and comprehensive audit logging
  • Scales with the needs of your organisation

HIP Integrator

Making data from existing systems usable

Healthcare organisations often have to invest significant effort to access and use data from their existing systems. These systems rely on complex, proprietary data models, rarely provide standardised interfaces and are often only partly documented.

The result is data that remains distributed, difficult to interpret and of limited use for connected care pathways, analytics or AI. Integration projects demand extensive manual work and specialist expertise, often taking months to complete. HIP Integrator supports and automates the analysis and mapping of clinical data from legacy systems. AI accelerates analysis, while deterministic code ensures that data pipelines run reliably and reproducibly. You remain fully in control.

Key benefits

  • Deliver integration projects more efficiently
  • Use AI-generated mapping suggestions that your domain experts review and approve
  • Keep AI out of the production flow of patient data; every transformation remains fully auditable
  • Migrate historical data and build ongoing data flows using the same mapping
  • Use proven HL7 v2 and FHIR connectors

HIP Insights

From data to reliable insight

HIP Insights makes clinical and non-clinical data useful beyond the individual case: for metrics and reporting, data quality, research cohorts and operational forecasting. It brings the capabilities of a CDR and a data warehouse together, enabling detailed clinical data and business metrics to be connected without losing context. Integrated consent management helps safeguard data protection and patient preferences. The result is reliable insight for care delivery, management, research and innovation.

Key benefits

  • Analyse clinical and administrative data directly on the platform
  • Define, analyse and document cohorts transparently and reproducibly
  • Assess data quality before analyses begin
  • Connect existing BI tools through platform APIs
  • Provide reliable data for research, analytics and AI applications

HIP Clinical

The right data, at the right time, in the right place

Clinical applications built on open standards help teams see the complete patient picture, make informed decisions and document care effectively.

HIP Clinical is where data becomes useful in care delivery. Its modules and solutions support day-to-day clinical work by making CDR data accessible through intuitive interfaces and applications.

A broad portfolio of applications across the HIP ecosystem enables end-to-end clinical processes on a shared data foundation. Configurable dashboards surface the information that matters in each indication and context. Flexible workflows and forms adapt to your organisation, not the other way around. AI-enabled applications reduce documentation effort while improving data quality. All applications work on the same data foundation.

Key benefits

  • The complete patient picture in one place, drawing on all connected systems
  • Configure clinical forms, views and dashboards instead of programming them
  • A broad ecosystem of partner applications based on open standards
  • Applications work directly on the platform’s shared data foundation
  • Clear separation of applications and data through open standards, so individual applications remain replaceable

Built for what comes next

Open, independent, auditable and EHDS-ready.

The HIP product family is designed for modern health data architectures: open, modular, scalable and ready for analytics, AI applications and secondary use. It addresses today’s challenges while preparing organisations for evolving regulatory, technological and operational requirements.

Built on clear principles

  • AI-ready – Structured, semantically harmonised data that AI applications can rely on.
  • EHDS-ready – FHIR-based data provision for secondary use from 2027, and for the European Health Record and ePrescription from 2029.
  • Open by design – openEHR and HL7 FHIR, no proprietary data formats, and storage in open-source components.
  • Future-proof – Your data remains usable even when applications or providers change.
  • Auditable – Data-level access rights, C5 certification, IHE ATNA audit logging, and EU-cloud or on-premises deployment.
