We have been working since 2019 with the German Foundation for the Chronically Ill as part of the ACHT project to establish a digitally supported, structured, and cross-sectoral aftercare programme for post-operative bariatric and metabolic patients.

Our partner Digital Avantgarde supports us in driving digital transformation in the healthcare sector. We work together on pioneering digitalisation projects, often involving hospital use of the HIP CDR.

We have been working since 2021 with the “Digital Hubs: Advances in Research and Health Care” initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). This aims to improve outpatient and inpatient care through cross-sectoral utilisation and analysis of routine data—for example in relation to cardiovascular disease.

Provision and operation of a user and technical support service offering assistance with creating and fulfilling e-prescriptions for doctors, pharmacists, health insurers, and insured persons.

We have launched and are actively promoting the EHRbase open-source stack based on openEHR, an international electronic health data standard. Providing the basis for true vendor independency, EHRbase has now become the starting point for many innovative projects and implementations.

As part of the EMPAIA Consortium, we are developing a browser-based platform to enable intelligent networked collaboration between AI solutions and medical users of image-based diagnostic services. This involves the use of existing components and modules within our Health Intelligence Platform (HIP).

Together with the Pius Hospital, the Evangelical Hospital Oldenburg is building a health data management system within the framework of the German Hospital Future Act. In addition to internal clinical use of the HIP CDR, another instance will be provided in the form of a telemedicine repository network to be used jointly by both hospitals.

We have been working since 2022 with our consulting partner EY-Parthenon to promote openEHR as an international standard for storing health data and to establish our HIP CDR in the hospital environment. We have been working for many years with Medical Informatics, an initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with the aim of providing digital health data for medical research, reliably and quickly. One of the four main consortia involved is the HiGHmed Consortium, which is enabling the development of innovative information infrastructure.

We are working with the Hannover Medical School to design, develop, and operate a cross-sectoral digital case record for medical aftercare of kidney transplant patients.

The e-health and support experts in our telemedicine centre are providing user and technical assistance for the German electronic reporting and information system for infection control (DEMIS) established by the Robert Koch Institute.

In order to strengthen its research and teaching activities locally, nationally, and internationally, the University Hospitals of the Ruhr University of Bochum syndicate set itself the goal of building medical research data infrastructure that will enable straightforward data sharing in accordance with privacy laws. The HIP CDR is the backbone of this project.

Since 2017, we have been working with HZI to develop SORMAS, an epidemic management system initially deployed to combat mpox in Nigeria. It has now been used to contain a total of 37 infectious diseases in West Africa. Up to late 2022, SORMAS was also successfully used by health boards for case and contact tracing management during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have been working since 2020 with Essen University Hospital on the NEPHRO-DIGITAL healthcare project. The electronic nephrology health record developed and realised through this has led to better networking between service providers and therefore increased quality of treatment.

Since 2021, we have been working on the CAEHR project coordinated by the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG), which aims to improve cardiovascular healthcare through better health communication and the timely provision of relevant health information. Intelligent data-driven services are to be established along the entire treatment path for this.
